At this morning’s Columbus Chamber of Commerce board meeting, it was announced that First Credit Services, Inc., a business process outsourcing company, will add 155 new jobs and invest $2 million in Columbus. The new jobs will include positions in customer service and operations.
First Credit Services (FCS) currently employees 30 people in Columbus and has chosen to expand its operation so they can continue their focus on hiring veterans and their families. With its proximity to Fort Benning, Columbus is the perfect location to achieve this objective.
Since 1993, FCS has provided accounts receivable management and customer care services for a variety of clients in the healthcare, automotive, financial, and health and fitness industries. They allow businesses to remain focused on their core competencies, while they handle the day-to-day responsibilities of customer service and receivables management. FCS’ current office is located in The Corporate Center on 12th Street; however, FCS recently purchased a larger space on Cross Country Drive on the Goodwill Industries Southern Rivers campus. Remodeling efforts are underway, and FCS anticipates occupying the space by April of 2020.
“We are excited to expand our presence in Columbus and provide additional jobs to American workers, and in particular, service men and women, their families, and the communities that support them,” said Raj Chhabria, CEO of First Credit Services. “We’ve found a wonderful pool of talent in the Columbus area and we know that we can attract and train the team members that we need so that our clients will receive the high level of quality that they expect. We look forward to a long partnership with the great State of Georgia and the community of Columbus.”
“This expansion is exciting news for Columbus,” said Georgia Department of Economic Development Commissioner Pat Wilson. “The jobs created by this expansion will open new doors of opportunity for people and their families in the region, and I want to thank First Credit Services for their continued investment in Georgia. Congratulations to our economic development partners in Columbus on the work they do to enable this kind of success in their community.”
“We are happy that First Credit Services has chosen to firmly plant roots in Columbus,” said Russ Carreker, Chairman of the Development Authority of Columbus. “FCS will provide an opportunity for many people to grow professionally and personally in the Midtown area which continues to benefit from redevelopment efforts. Our partners at the Columbus Chamber, specifically Brian Sillitto, did an outstanding job positioning Columbus for this expansion and I thank him for his efforts.”
“Today’s announcement is a great achievement for First Credit Services and is certainly welcome news for our local economy,” said Columbus Chamber Chair Audrey Hollingsworth. “As FCS continues to expand its business, it will join other leading companies who have found success in Columbus.”
